This Anemone has a flattened oral disc covered with numerous short tentacles. Its colors vary widely, ranging from white to bright orange or mottled brown.
The Elegant Anemone buries its body in the sand, leaving only its disc exposed. It is nocturnal and fully retracts during the day or when disturbed.
