Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy governs both the Bonaire Fish ID App ("the App") and the Bonaire Reef website ("the Website"). By using the App or visiting the Website, you agree to the terms in this policy.

Last updated: 28 September 2026

1. No Data Collection

• The App does not collect, store, or share any personal information or usage data.
• The Website does not gather personal information from visitors.
• We do not track user behavior, nor do we use analytics tools.
• There are no accounts, no sign-up, and no cookies of our own.

2. Server Logs

• The Website is hosted by Hostinger, which keeps standard access logs: the IP address, the date and time, and the page or file requested. These logs are part of running and securing any website, and they are deleted on the hosting provider's own schedule.
• The App downloads its species data from bonairereef.com, so those same logs record the App's requests. The App sends no name, account or identifier with them.
• We do not use these logs to follow visitors, and we do not combine them with anything else.

3. Third-Party Services and External Links

• The App does not integrate with or use any third-party services that collect data.
• The App is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Apple and Google collect their own download, purchase and crash information under their own privacy policies, which we do not control and cannot see beyond anonymous totals.
• The Website may contain links to external sites, which are governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.

4. Photos and Information

How the photos and species information may be reused is not a privacy matter: it is covered by the license shown in the footer of every page, with the details under Using these photos.

5. Updates to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this Privacy Policy page on the Website, and the date above will be updated.

6. Contact Us

If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy, please contact us at fishid@bonairereef.com.

By using the Bonaire Fish ID App or visiting the Bonaire Reef website, you acknowledge that no personal information is collected or processed by us, other than the server logs described above.
