This Blenny's body color varies from pale to green or reddish brown, covered with dark blotches and small spots. It has a dark-circled blue spot at the rear of the dorsal fin. The front of the dorsal fin has intricate markings.

The Dusky Blenny can be found in shallow waters with rubble and rocks.
