This Blenny has a body with irregular dark bars and a large round spot with a pale ring on the gill cover. It has cirri above the eyes and at the top rear of the head. Males are usually solid green, sometimes showing red on the chin and belly.
The Hairy Blenny can be found in shallow waters with rubble and rocks.
