This Blenny has a noticeably large, bright red lower lip and sometimes a reddish head with a few blotches or stripes. Its body can be pale, gray, or dark, and the fins may have red or orange shades. At night, it can change its colors dramatically.
The Redlip Blenny can be found in shallow rocky areas and between corals on the reef. It is territorial and defends its space, though it is generally cautious when approached by divers.
