Ridged Cactus Coral forms flat or rounded plates with curved ridges that often grow inward or branch. The ridges are usually a different color from the rest of the coral and can appear fleshy. Polyps only extend from the tops of the ridges.
This Cactus Coral is often found in shaded areas but becomes more visible in open areas as depth increases. It usually hides its polyps during the day and shows them at night.
