The Micro-pagurid Hermit is a very tiny crab that lives inside a shell for protection. Its body is yellow with blue marks, and its eyes are long and thin. It has two claws, but the reddish-brown right claw is bigger than the lighter left one. The walking legs are white with red-brown stripes and dark tips. Its legs and claws are bumpy and prickly, and its feelers have red-brown spots too.
This small Hermit crab is often hidden. It is found only in select areas of the Caribbean, including the Bahamas, Honduras, Panama, and possibly Mexico, but it has also been observed on Bonaire on a few rare occasions.
