This Eel has a long, slender body resembling a snake, with fins that are joined together from its back to its tail. It also has small fins under its throat that help it sense its surroundings.
Cusk eels include over 240 species adapted to different marine environments. In the shallows they burrow tail-first into sandy bottoms or hide near turtle grass.
