Juvenile Moray

Juvenile Morays are difficult to identify because their appearance can look similar across species.

They are black with a white patch under their jaw. As they grow, their colors and patterns change, making it easier to identify their species when they are adults.

After their planktonic (free-floating) stage, young morays settle into rocky areas where they hide in small holes and crevices during the day.
