This Goby has a yellow 'V' on its snout, transitioning into a yellow-blue stripe. The stripe widens, reaching maximum width at the middle of the body. It has a dark upper body, a pale underside, and a shark-like mouth.

The Sharknose Goby is a cleaner fish, often found in small groups at cleaning stations on coral heads. It removes parasites from larger fish and is not shy around divers.
