The Ariane's Melibe is nearly transparent, with visible white internal organs and scattered white and brown markings. It has a large, rounded oral hood lined with small papillae. Its rhinophores rise from short bases and look split at the tips. It has four tall, flat cerata with small bumps along each side of its back.
The Ariane's Melibe has been found on Red Filament Alga growing over sandy areas. Its transparent body makes it very hard to notice.
