This Triggerfish has a body that ranges in shades of purple, blue, turquoise, and green, with a yellowish hue on the lower head. Two bright blue lines curve across its face, and thin lines extend outward from the eyes. The rear dorsal and tail fins have long, pointed tips.
The Queen Triggerfish is usually found in deeper waters, while juveniles stay in shallow sandy areas, keeping close to crevices and rubble for protection.
