This Trunkfish has a pale blue or pale brown body with black spots, including on its tail. A white patch surrounds its mouth. Its body is triangular in shape, and two spines point backward near the rear. Juveniles are white with large dark spots.
The Spotted Trunkfish is cautious and swims away when approached by divers.
