This Porcupinefish has a web-like pattern on its back and sides, with large black spots across its body. Its color ranges from light to dark brown, sometimes showing a yellowish tint beneath the mouth and eyes. The spines are short, thick, and always upright. Its eyes have a yellow-gold ring around the pupil and are speckled with blue and green.
The Web Burrfish swims slowly close to the bottom. It moves away when approached, and inflates its body when threatened.
