The Whitefin Sharksucker has a dark body with wide white borders along a black central stripe. The tail has thick white edges. The dorsal fin is shaped like a disc and is used to attach to hosts.
Sharksuckers often attach not only to sharks, but also to turtles, rays, large fish, or even divers.
