This Goatfish has a bright yellow tail, a yellow stripe, and two faint blue stripes running along the middle of its silvery-white body. Its fins are pale or yellowish, and two barbels extend from beneath its chin.
The Yellow Goatfish uses its barbels to search for food in sand and rubble. It is often seen alone or in small groups with other species and moves away when approached closely.
