This Razorfish has a straight-edged tail. Males have a dark patch at the base of the pectoral fin. Females have a white patch on the belly with reddish line markings and a dark bar on the gill cover.
The Rosy Razorfish can be seen in small groups hovering above sandy areas, often staying close to seagrass beds. When threatened, it quickly dives into the sand and may tunnel beneath it before coming back out.
