The Sea Bream has a blue-silver body with thin, horizontal yellow stripes and a large, dusky spot located just behind its head. A distinct, dark diagonal bar runs through its eye, and its fins are dusky to clear.
The Sea Bream is very cautious and often seen in small groups in shallow areas with plenty of cover, such as seagrass beds and mangroves. Its diet includes small shellfish and crustaceans, but also algae and seagrass.
