Barred Hamlet
Hamlets Spawning

Hamlets have a unique way of mating. They don't have separate males and females. Every evening at sunset, they meet with the same partner in the same area. As it gets darker, they take turns being the "male" or "female" in a behavior called egg trading. One starts by flaring its fins and shaking its head, while the other embraces it and swims upward to release eggs. Then they switch roles and repeat the process.
Hamlets can also breed with other hamlet species if their usual partner isn’t around. This can create hybrids, which are a mix of two species and hard to identify. Even within a single hamlet species, individuals can look quite different from each other.
