The Juvenile Hamlet has a light brown body with two white and black spots near its tail, one above the other. A pair of faint, dark stripes runs horizontally along its sides from the head to the tail. The head has blue markings, and a white stripe extends from the top of the snout to behind the eye.
These Juveniles are solitary and hide in caves or crevices during the day, coming out at dusk to hunt for small shrimps, crabs, and other tiny creatures. As they mature, they develop the colors of their adult species, making it difficult to tell them apart.
