The Brown Fanworm has a round, fan-like crown with alternating bands of white, brown, or purple. Its tube has a soft, parchment-like texture and is usually hidden within the structure it grows on.
This Fanworm stays in protected spots among older hard bottoms without live coral. It keeps most of its body inside its tube, exposing only the crown to feed.
