This Hawkfish has a head and dorsal fin covered with red and orange spots. It has brownish bars on a pale body, and there can be a big dark spot at the end of the body before the tail. The tail color varies from reddish to white or clear.
The Redspotted Hawkfish is the only member of the Hawkfish family in the Caribbean. It is relatively shy and moves away when approached.
