Last updated: 5 November 2026

1. The App and the Website

The App and the Website are free, with no ads, purchases or user accounts. We may change, update or discontinue them or their content at any time.

2. Species Information

Each identification is made with care, but it remains a best guess, and some details may include mistakes. Some images are marked as illustrations created with AI and may contain small errors. The App and the Website are for information and education only. Do not rely on them for safety, medical or legal decisions, or to decide whether a marine species is safe to touch or eat.

3. Using the Photos and Information

The photos and species information are free to share and reuse, with credit to Bonaire Reef, for non-commercial purposes, under the Creative Commons BY-NC 4.0 license. Copying the collection as a whole, or any large part of it, whether by hand or with automated tools, is not allowed without permission. For commercial use, please contact us.

4. Downloads and External Links

If you enable downloads in the App's Settings, the App downloads high-quality photos and catalog updates when on Wi-Fi. The App and the Website also contain links to other websites, which we do not control. See also our Privacy Policy.

5. No Warranty and Liability

The App and the Website are provided "as is", without any warranty. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of them. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

6. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. The latest version is always available on this page, and the date above will be updated.

7. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without limiting any mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.
