Goldentail Moray, Reticulated Pattern

Sometimes, the pattern is reversed, with a pale background covered in spots or a network-like pattern.

This Moray has a brown body covered with numerous small yellow spots, which can vary in size. The tip of the tail is often yellow (gold), and there is a yellow ring around the pupil of its eye.

The Goldentail Moray lives among coral and rocks. During the day, it hides in crevices, often with only its head visible. It usually ignores divers but may retreat if approached too closely.
