This Goby has a pale gray body with reddish-brown blotches and spots. A dark bar crosses its eye and cheek, and a line of elongated dark spots runs along its side. It has a dark mark on the gill cover and a long, pointed tail.
The Dash Goby is often seen in sandy rubble areas near shelter or burrowed in the sand. It sometimes shares burrows with Snapping Shrimp.
