The Atlantic Wing-Oyster has brown wing-like shell extensions near its hinge. The overall shell is mottled, and the surface is often encrusted. The inside of the shell is a shiny, pearly silver-white or gray.
The Atlantic Wing-Oyster is mostly found attached to Sea Plumes, Sea Fans, and other Gorgonians. It is often overlooked due to its small size and the encrusting organisms on its shell.
