The Golden Cone has a raised shell top with small bumps. Its shell has irregular white areas mixed with chestnut or orange patches. Fine brown or orange spiral lines cross its shell and are often broken into short sections. On its lower half, these lines become fine grooves with tiny, widely spaced bumps.
The Golden Cone is a predator that uses venom to capture its prey.
