Ornate Scallop

The Ornate Scallop has rounded shells with one wing much smaller than the other. The upper shell has 18 to 20 tall ribs, each with small, sharp spines. The color is usually white or pale yellow with red or purple spots, and some may have reddish-brown bands in a broken pattern.
This Scallop lives hidden beneath rocks or in shallow rubble, and can sometimes be found in sandy areas.
